Day Wines
Cancilla Vineyards Pinot Noir
There is something addictively delicious abt this wine - red fruit with just a hint of sugar and spice but then dry earth to back it up.

Oct 3rd, 2016I've had this twice now. Once straight out of the bottle, and tonight I decanted it for about an hour or two before serving. Right out of the bottle it's far more subtle and understated. After decanting it transforms. Sour cherry, a slightly wild/funky/oxidative character. Hazy/cloudy purple color. Good acidity. Something a little different from one of my favorite AVAs.

Dec 12th, 2016Close to medium bodied, with sugared berries on the palate and an arresting grip... If you're gonna drop money on a good Oregon Pinot of this vintage, make it this one. 2014.

Nov 3rd, 2015Although I love Brianne Day's posse of "weird & wonderful" wines, her Pinot Noirs are revealing, impeccable. The Cancilla Vineyard is my favorite of hers: bright, ripe like a plum tender to the touch, juicy, and a bit dangerous...taut as a hidden switchblade...
