That clean fresh, herbaceous Jose you would expect from a well made sake. The pallete rolls with English cucumber and tarragon. A delightful sake, one; as my friend Kazumi tells me, is of high quality. Thanks Kazumi!

This is killer sake. Obviously not as killer as the 23. But for the price the flavors explode with flowers and apples. Great acid. This is so flavorful. Great solo or with food. But solo is good.

A wonderful change of pace and every bit as interesting. A wonderful aroma of peach and tropical flowers leads the way to a delicate yet rich texture. Underripe melon, pear and peach show up front with subtle peppercorn and cooling menthe on the rear and all wrapped in a creamy mouthfeel. Stunning length.

Not always my favourite on the table, but always solid. Dassai's like the Penfolds of sake - producing high quality beverages at a scale that's accessible to the multitude. In 2013, Asahi Shuzo, Dassai's brewery, sold 1.14 million bottles of sake, which is peanuts compared to what Treasury does, but no mean feat in a struggling sake industry. For me, Dassai is at least large enough to have reached little ol' Kuching, and to have been one of my first encounters with a Junmai Daiginjo.
I've always found Dassai's quite rich and it's no different here. Exotic nose of melons, pineapple, candied fruits even. Palate's like a fruit punch, plush but toned back by herbaceous notes and some acidity. Clean, lengthy finish. Very approachable. The best drink on the table this time.

A wonderful sake hand delivered from a new friend from just outside Tokyo visiting the US. Medium dry with a lovely light banana first taste moving quickly to stone fruit finish. Highly recommended of you can find it.
