2002 vintage. This wine manifests all the elegance, subtlety and refined complexity of a Humvee. Then there is the nose, which tells me that the Humvee is transporting massive quantities of freshly cut oak 2x4s. The oak is overwhelming and unrelenting. There is some redeeming value to this wine: the bottle is so pretentiously overweight that after pouring it (should one decide to do that for some reason), you may be able to skip a weights training session at the gym. Really, why do this to innocent grapes? If, on the other hand, you like a totally mono dimensional, over extracted, over oaked, high alcohol, clumsy wine, with weight training benefits on the side, this wine is for you.

The fruit-forward characteristic is still strong with this one. Still oaky and powerful for this age.

Fruity nose but definitely not too much. Very well rounded on the palate and soft tannins. Drinking very well.

Holding up quite well. Big smoky chocolate and cola nose and throughout. Finishes clean and long. Nice balance and finesse.

This wine is now mature and not drinking as well as several years ago. Slight raisin undertone. Unfortunate.
