Darby
The Dark Side Syrah
Sultry, smoky, and with deep minerality. Mouthcoating and plush, together with the low acidity scream Walla Walla to me, even though this says Columbia Valley AVA. Not the most complex, but ticks a lot of boxes and is quite satisfying. Great value at $15 from Last Bottle.

Apr 16th, 2016I’m loving everything Darby produces. They tend to make a statement from their extra thick bottles to their very expressive wines. A dark and only slightly peppery Syrah. Good spice notes with smoky wood chip in a barbecue flavors. Just enough for the tannins to keep it well structured. Expressive flavor from the tip of your tongue to the back of your mouth. At this point I think I would try anything from them.

Feb 8th, 2019Meal in a glass. Rich, powerful, nice intensity, well made but mildly confections. To be drank on its own.
