I was disappointed by this ‘18 Pinot from Santa Maria valley as the Daou Reserve and Gary’s Vineyard Pinots really stood out. This one hasn’t integrated yet. Or maybe it was an off bottle. Initial rating 88 Pts. Revisiting 9/15/20 at Daou Vineyards and this wine is shining now. Nicely integrated. Upgraded to 90 Pts.

Ruby red. A nice musty aroma with hints of plum. Notes of dark stone fruit, pleasant tannins on the finish.

Light red, young color. Some spice on nose. Fruit is from small block in Santa Bárbara county where a little cooler growing. Some spice on nose, cranberry, raspberry. Dry, acid, has a nice zing, wakes you up interesting wine. Like it.
