A very impressive nose that immediately takes me to Bordeaux but on the palate it’s unmistakably Paso Robles with lush, dense red and dark fruits. It’s a massive tobacco and green pepper bomb with some purple flowers and earth notes. A dense wine endowed with a good frame. I liked this a lot more than I thought I would.

Soft and structured. Excellent tannic structure. A Cabernet-lovers right bank blend. Enjoyable vanilla notes from the oak. This will last many years in your cellar if you can resist opening the bottle!

Edward Chiu's post only days ago made me hopeful that this wine was similar to Stag's Leap (Napa Valley) but further research discovered that a Stags" Leap exists ( also in Paso Robles like Daou ) and the only way to distinguish the two is the apostrophe ! I found this wine too fruity and obviously I'll consider that I've initiated my exploration of Paso Robles by pouring a wine before it's time. ☹️🍷
