Leather, cherry, dried berries, spices. Lots of nose. Mellowing, but tannic. The Syrah added some funk, in a good way. This was a strong wine coming from NM. Would have pared well with game, but we mis-paired it with a Brussels sprout and lemon pasta because we wanted a red.
