Decanted because I wasn't sure about the age. I'm glad I did and wow. I can smell this as I type and I want a glass. Now. If it tastes 1/2 as good as it smells, I'm in for a treat.

Modern style Rioja, though still inexpressive and subdued after decanting. Aromas of leather, red fruits and some spice. A bit disjointed on the palate; creamy on the attack but it just fades away. I'm a huge Rioja fan, so this was a disappointing showing for a producer with a lot of pedigree. Maybe I missed the memo....

Still wearing it's oak rather prominently. Lots of dark spice and blackberry. Likes a good decant, but I'd wait for at least 18-months before revisiting.
