Vibrant purple. Deep fruit character, subdued spice elements for Syrah. The main palate impression is of dense, extremely fine grained tannins than beg another sip. Paired w grilled lamb chops scented w garlic, oregano and rosemary, which seems an ideal match.

The 2015 Syrah Charles Heintz Vineyard is an outrageously beautiful, vivid wine. A rush of blue and purplish fruit, lavender, licorice and dark spice make a strong opening statement. Today, the tannins are a bit overpowering, but time in bottle will do the trick. The 2015 was fermented in concrete, with 10% whole clusters, and aged in a combination of concrete and oak. Readers who can find the wine should not hesitate. Heintz is one of the top vineyards in California. Getting a glimpse of the site through the lens of Syrah it makes for a deeply fascinating experience. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Mar 2017)

Deep opaque purple, incredible nose bursting the senses. Rich layers of black cherry and smoked cinnamon. Still a little tannic, but it’s subtle. Good acidity and long finish.

Really great. Straight out of the bottle I got highly enjoyable fizzy blackberries. Once it opened up, it was more full bodied and tannic. Paired well if not necessarily “recommended” with penna alla vodka.

Got two bottles. Both seem corked. Blueberry fruit evaporated immediately and left me with steak accidentally cooked with styrofoam still on.

Drink this in 5+ years and it will be a 10/10. Amazing balance for a 2015 Syrah. High acid and sharp, grippy tannins. Will be buying more to lay down for a while.

Lots of potential here. Plan to revisit in 6 months or so.
