Cru Monplaisir
Bordeaux Red Bordeaux Blend
Merlot. Clay soils. Old world flavors with new world polish. Good grippy tannin finish suggests long life. Dusty herbalness meets tart red fruit.

Very (and I mean very) aromatic for Bordeaux. Not heavily extracted which contributed to the purity on the nose. Pretty smooth and nice, but the tannins are too intense now.

Mar 12th, 2014I took this bottle of Cru Monplaisir 2015 Bordeaux up to Melbourne recently to share with family friends, and boy did it go down a treat! It’s a blend of 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc.
“Monplaisir is a Bordeaux Superieur adjacent to the appellation of Margaux. It is this proximity the French Vineprestigious appellation that makes this wine incredible value for the money.” $42 per bottle.
On the eye it’s a wonderfully enticing shade of garnet. On the nose it’s full of blackberries, plums and cherries with hints of tar and leather books. In the mouth it has a super silky smooth texture with hints of dark chocolate, black fruits, elegantly integrated spiced oak and suave tannins. Mmm 👌
I received this sample from frenchvine.com.au who import this wine and a selection of other great French wine into Australia 🍷🇫🇷
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #winesample #tcweekdaywine
