Crowned Beast
Cabernet Sauvignon
Comté-Tolosan IGP. This was in the box of 12 nights of Cab. It’s got decent color. Dark rose and mauve. Smells strange: masking tape, something sharp like over-ripe fruit. Flavors are earthy and strangely tart for Cab. It has a bit of that Bulgarian sauna thing going on. There’s a hint of currants. This is a strange wine. Heavy on the savory and funky.

Sep 19th, 2023This wine pours a dark brick or rust red. It has a mild nose. Lots of tannins. It has kind of an earthy, vegetable nature. But a little more fruit than what we think of as most old world Reds. It went quite well with the lasagna that I paired it with. This is day six, I think, of the 12 days of Cabernet from Costco. Continues to be a fun and enjoyable experience.
