Cottesbrook
Marlborough Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc
Bright pale straw with green gold highlights. Fine, persistent bubbles. Abundant nose of grassy passionfruit. Medium full palate gives passionfruit, guava, and less emphasized grass. High acidity (natch), but more balanced than one might expect from NZ. Finish is short but present. Great alternative sparkling wine that's great with seafood and salads or as a brunch aperitif. Drink now.

Jul 14th, 2023Done in an oxidative style that leads to a lot of creamy texture which is balanced out by the high acidity of the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Great value and a great buy!

Feb 17th, 2019Star bright pale straw gold. Rapidly dissipating mousse, but persistent medium bubbles. Abundant nose of passion fruit and grassy fig. Echoed on the palate featuring bright acidity and a medium [sparkling] body. Finish is about what you’d expect from a sparkler. Clean and grassy, this is a very intriguing offering from New Zealand’s primary SB region. Ready for food, but a great drink on its own. It has the capacity to add complexity to the right meals. Sushi, salads with added protein (salmon, chicken, etc.), pork tenderloin, seafood bisque, and similar fare will sing with this. Or just have a glass of your new alternative fizz on its own.

Oct 4th, 2018Light straw yellow with aromas of citrus and stone fruits with grassy notes. On the palate sour apple & with lively acidity and minerality. Has light almost non-existent bubbles. On the finish showing herbal characteristics on the ending. An unusual wine. Tasting Sample.

Jul 30th, 2016A go-to favorite from down under: Just a bit of sparkle compared to Champagne/Crémant, but comes with a nice flavor profile that stands alongside the sparkle. Take time to cherish this sip by sip as it’s soft, bubbly texture help caress the palate to start a great meal. Cheers!
