dried red cherry, fig, pipe tobacco, rose petals, baking spices; lovely texture with fine grained tannins, 13.9% ABV; blend of 50% Tempranillo and 50% Nebbiolo, spends 12 months in 30% new French oak; easily the most interesting Valentine’s Day bottle; $47

Interesting wine. I liked the blend. Fig Newton dominated the flavor.

Very cool wine! I've never had a wine from Mexico and I certainly have never had a Tempranillo and Nebbiolo blend. Red and dark fruits with a bit of vanilla. Big and bold. Goes well with the Southwestern cuisine for tonight's dinner.

Really clean winemaking (Napa consultant), manages the salinity note fairly well, way too much oak. Nicely polished, but not terribly compelling.
