Kronos Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Yeah buddy. Taking us back to the 90s where raves and mullets ruled. Cathy does it again. Still has time. Amazing with smoked tri-tip. A napa treasure

2nd vintage from the Kronos vineyard
Decant and pour(lots of sediment). A medium tawny red color. On the nose: very expressive port like sweet notes with dried cherry, stewed meat, eucalyptus, cedar, herbs. Taste: silky, still fresh for its age, amazing acid wine with sour cherry, loamy soil, licorice and a peppery espresso medium plus finish. YUM! Sure, on the downside, but holds it own tonight.

A great experience tasting the 1997 kronos alongside the 2015 corison napa valley cab.
The winner for all but 1 at the table was the 1997 kronos. Deep red and blue fruits on the nose. Incredibly complex, with red and black cherry driven but fading fruits on the palate, leather, tobacco, spice, fine earthiness.. almost unnoticeable fine tannins but strong backbone of acid and a finish that lasted forever. Evolved over the night with the acid fading and the fruits surprisingly becoming more prominent.
The 2015 napa valley is no slouch either. Comparing to the kronos we got a wonderful fruit profile tending towards blueberries, medium tannins, and a pleasant baking spice note on the nose noticeably absent from the older wine.

Plush, rich mouthfeel. Plums, brown sugar, leather, dried herbs, and a finish that doesn't end.
