Dark reddish purple, opaque. Tight nose even with more air. Floral nose with notes of red fruit, roses, earth, some spice, tree bark and a little bit of menthol. Nicely balanced in the mouth. Fruit matches structure with a pleasant finish. Still mostly primary. Needs more time to gain some complexity.

Great example which showed well for a 15 year old wine. One of 14,760 bottles of this cuvée. Classic Barolo 'shape' with lovely Nebbiolo sweetness followed by the hit of acidity - powerful yet elegant.

Wow nose, knocked me over with pine tar, resiny leather and sour cherry. Layers of interesting flowers (lavender, roses) and restrained power. Deep and delineated dark red fruit. Very ready after 45 min decant. Superb. Note: 1 of 3 bottles was off with a funk that blew off the other 2 good ones, but just persisted on the 3rd.
