Bought at Grandi Vini in Alba late Sept this year. Pale tawny color of cold black tea at rim. Nose of dried plum, fungal elements, touch of molasses and even wet nappy. It's been a while since I changed one of these but I swear that is an accurate descriptor! Fine, fine silky tannins. Pleasant sweet finish. No need for further cellaring. Excellent!

Right now, the 01 CF Parussi is just stellar. Fabulous tobacco, sous bois, mineral, ripe berry fruit, and a stunning mouthfeel with great viscosity and acid in terrific balance. Yum.

A lovely Barolo on the cusp of maturity, with classic notes on the nose. Mid-weight. Unfortunately, I now find the oak intrusive. When I bought it on release, I was less mindful of wood notes in Nebbiolo. Now, I am increasingly drawn to wines in which oak is not present.
