Reserva Especial Valle del Bío-Bío Riesling
Really fumy on the nose, giving its identity away immediately. This was a very enjoyable Riesling - a grape I don’t drink enough of - that balanced a zingy, generous palate with reasonably precise acidity. If anything, slightly one-dimensional, with little more than notes of apple, kiwi and melon in the mix. But having held onto this budget bottle for four years since I bought it, I’m very pleased with how it’s showing now at five years of age.

Apr 15th, 2020Fairly tight at the moment, so may benefit from time in bottle. Delicately fumy nose with baked apple and lime zest; the palate showed slightly overpowering strings of sour citrus fruit, with balanced acidity but a somewhat short finish.
