Concha y Toro
Reserva Casillero del Diablo Carménère

Carmenere grapes from Chile, 2011. Bottle tasted in July 2014. First I must admit that I'm not familiar with wines from Chile, I found this to be more of a winter wine, pleasant and rather well made. Not easy to pair with summer food.

Good basic red, prefer Carmenere to Malbec.

Drink above 60•. Otherwise it is really acidic. Worked with spaghetti & garlic/butter just fine. Little bit of pepper to it. It gets better after it has open for a few hours.

Nice and dry. Perfect table red. My new go to especially for the price. My Chilean friends in the states like this one too.

Pretty velvety and juicy. A little peppery. Good with bitter chocolate.

Яркий смородиновый аромат, чуть животно, чуть фиалково. Яркая взрывная кислотность, танины бодрые. Типично новосветски. 15,5/20

Bland. Smoky smell upfront but not much burst of flavor.
