Far, far too young, but the potential is clear and worthy of the hype. Still enjoyable and expressive through the wall of youthful tannin.

Sublime. The purity here is just striking. As great as it has always been.

It is damn close to perfection. Not for regular Barolo fans. You need to open your eyes here. Sublime.

This whole cluster Barolo was surprisingly open with lush cherry & strawberry fruit. A very unique style of Barolo that would appeal to Burg aficionados

So pure, whole cluster & finessed with stunning aromatics. Drinking more like a great GC Burg than a Barolo. Just an awesome vintage for Burlottos Monvigliero.

Intense and concentrated strawberry and rose on the nose. Weightless on the palate. Both powerful and delicate at once.

Oh boy. My first 2013 of his spectacular wine. Traditionally pressed and whole cluster macerated for 60 days, this wine is ethereal. Bursting with a dense floral nose. The tannins are still very present but taking a back seat to the fruit. So very delightful.

Evening in VT in the background.

Rubis clair

Another “this definitely isn’t Barolo!” wine @StanWilliams. Amazing! Garnet color, Burgundian nose, red fruit on the palate.

(Tasted at "Del Posto", La Festa del Barolo Masterclass Tasting)
A very burgundian Barolo, showing tremendous elegance & finesse; it feels like dancing on light feet in your palate. No typical huge amount of tannins that is common in young Baroli. Also it had a very particular Nebbiolo nose and aromas in the palate, very much on the floral & raspberry side, as mentioned, quite burgundian. With some air it opened up and showed a huge potential of complexity. So much elegance here. After all: a very mystical & exotic wine - wow! But so is "Monvigliero" of Verduno I guess. I have had sadly only very few Baroli from this MGA so that I can't really compare well. I am so curious to try this one again in like 10 years.
