Had the 2011 vintage on June 5, 2016. Drinkable, silky with tannic finish.

Jun 6th, 2016not quite the classic as the 2010 but it didn't suck either. wait an hour to drink ... if you can keep the pasta sauce from becoming a reduction sauce by then.

Jun 6th, 2016Earth and heart. I didn't hear before about this wine but I know Badia a Coltibuono and I know that it's an excellent bio winery. In the nose it starts close with soft earthy notes, leather, underwood, stones. After half an hour it starts opening to fruitiness, cherry in particular. Balanced in the mouth with sweet tannins, good acidity and leather again. I would have preferred more spices but, anyway, this is an nice trip to the earth and heart of Chianti more than its vineyards.
