Codorníu was founded in 1551 in Catalonia. They are the world's oldest and second largest producer of bottle-fermented sparkling wine. Enjoyable and balanced sparkler that brings plenty of cherry, almond, and yeast, but also offers an unexpected menthol note (think mint oil, not Kools) that gives this a unique edge.

It paired well with our sushi. It was still good even though we should have opened it a year or two earlier. Dry, with a slight sweetness, with notes of strawberries and tartness.
