Les Grandes Places Côte-Rôtie Syrah

Producer > vintage. Dried cherry and red currant, fur, iron, violets, leather. Has some nice spine and carries an old school feel to it. Barrel has really integrated which was pleasant to see. Very perfumed.

A wonderfully balanced Syrah, red fruited, silky, jubilant

Delicate, yet full of power, although the structure is slowly melting. Super.

Fun nose but what a disappointment on the palate. The nose was full of everything one would expect from #coterotie from a light vintage. The palate was super austere and dried out with no fruit to round out a very tannic wine. The standard #cuvee 2008 #cluselroch I had at #elevanmadisonpark was so much better.

2000, but still tight

Watery, light on nose, palate and finish. A very ordinary wine

My WOTN. It was all about balance. Lots of nice dark spicy fruit. Tons of black pepper. Fresh and holding tight. Some development and the good Brett. Aka leather etc
