After the first splash you're enthusiastically greeted by a generous nose; freshly picked blueberries, wild flowers and a hint of black olives. A dense ruby to simmering blackberry color core, expanding to a slightly paler rim. This wine is seamless, finely knit tannins, effortlessly woven into the fabric of this southern Rhone stunner; w/ Grenache leading the way @ 40%, followed by Mouvedre and Syrah. Blueberries, blackberries, olives and a meatiness are caressed by underbrush tones; this wine is complex!

Dark red migrating toward dark purple, full bodied Chateauneuf. Quite fruit forward - for the first hour it was vaguely some dark fruit on the nose with some herbal and vegetable notes. Later on it revealed what seemed to be dates and plums with hints of spice. On the palate it was more of the plum yet quite dry with the 30% Syrah showing its stronger tannin profile. Long, beautiful finish with an echo of green olives. Quite nice for a less expensive Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Give it a try!
