Suprisingly rich and juicy. Silky smooth, nice acidity but without good tannin support ended up tasting a bit jammy.
Bordeaux / Cotes de Bordeaux; 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon,
33 euro, $46 (purchased in St Emillion tourist zone)

This wine was weird. I thought it was completely Madeirized when I opened it. Let it sit around for a few hours and it came around. Still felt kind of ripe and flabby but the oxidized character had resolved.

Smooth, velvety, fruity but with enough weight and tannins that it lingers. Can be thoroughly enjoyed on its own - which is what I'm doing. Red meat and duck would go well.
