A far cry from the classic passion fruit Kiwi sauv popular a decade ago. Lives up to advertising, claiming a very steely, mineral-driven wine defined by its restraint and finesse. Reminiscent of an Austrian or German sauv blanc with silicate minerals overlaying white grapefruit, hints of smoke, iodine, and toasted coriander.

This is the Clos Henri “Stones” 20th Anniversary Sauvignon Blanc. Medium gold color. Vibrant aromas of pineapple, peach, lime and white flowers. Same fruits on the palate which is nicely complemented by a fresh herbal quality. Lovely creamy texture. Bright and clean but with toned down acidity. Beautiful expression of NZ Sauvignon Blanc. Thanks for sharing, Kase!
