Still quite fruity. Good but not great length. Balanced yet not fully integrated. Probably better in 5 more years.

2000 vintage. Still fairly with nice earth, shroom, fudge and plum components. Nose with just the right amount of agefunk. Delicious. Plenty of time left on this one and seems to have another 1-3 years before it hits the top of the bell curve.

Rich with Merlot, glycerin, slight green olives, good structure and length was drinking beautifully with a 15 minute decant. But it is time to drink up perhaps another 3 years

Wow, it was worth the wait. Big, red velvet.

I had this beauty at the end of my tasting course dinner- so memory is slightly skewed. Ripe fruits of blackberry, red plum with hints of licorice and earthy notes. Full bodied with a soft, complex finish.

With a 3.5 hour decant and some considerable swirling to blow off some aromas the wine was very drinkable and went very well with meatballs.

With a two plus hour decant the wine is still drinking very young. Note I opened a case so the provenance, storage etc was impeccable. While certainly drinkable and enjoyable there is still evident tannins and will likely open the next bottle with a longer decant. It has not reached plateau and will likely give drinking pleasure for a long time to come.

Whilst staying next door to Clos Fourtet it seemed appropriate to treat us to a fab vintage of 2000 @ €160 but alas not experienced in the best glasses but at least we had a decanter in our Gite 👍

🏵 93 points

🍇 90% Merlot & 10 % Cabernet Sauvignon

🍷 Opaque ruby

👃 Gravel & soggy earth through charred oak & dark plum/berry mash fruit w/ minerals & mocha

👄 Med body of creamy earthy dark plum bathed in mocha w/ a liquorice tickle

🎯 Med+ earthy mocha liquorice dark plump fading fruit soft finale

🧀 Paired with Comte, Rocamadour Goats & Brie de Meaux

Pleasant. Nose underwhelming but a solid bottle of wine.
