When I first open it up I got notes of charcoal bitter chocolate and charred cedar wood. As the oke characteristic started to wear off I started getting a little bit more Blackberry Cassis and maraschino cherry and a much smoother more supple mouthfeel.

My only issue is balance I think that the oak characteristics overshadowed the terroir of the grapes.

This is delightful. Massive bouquet and big fruit as well as earth and leather. Have only had South American tannât in the past. We drank this side by side w a similarly priced 2016 Argentina tannât w some time in new oak, and we liked this better. The Argentinian was still good in its own right and was much more subtle, earthier, w chalky cocoa powder

N: oaky earth. Black cherries come through with.
P: dry and tannic. The oak is very upfront. Green dried spices.

A little high on the wood but otherwise decent as a steak wine. Not very expressive. Almost black like most Tannats

Nose: ripe dark raspberry with hints of mint and a touch of alcohol, jammy dark fruit Taste: dark fruit first, with tart acidity in balance, leading into subtle but mentionable notes of leather. Finish: super long and big bold tannins, make your lip stick to your teeth tannins, there’s some more dark raspberry fruit on the finish but mostly dry tannins
