Clos Orgelot-Monopole Pommard 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Please ignore the mold on the label. Or, alternatively treasure it. As I do. Decided I wanted something nice to drink with dinner tonight, and this fit the bill nicely. Aromas of pine duff and dried apples give way to dried sour cherry, cedar, dried flowers and thyme. Beautifully silky and fantastic acid balance

Wonderful Pommard - crunchy acid has melded with damp earth notes and stewed red fruits. Outstanding.

I've had a few wonderful meals at Leuca in Williamsburg recently because the in-laws spent a few weeks staying at the (very chic) hotel that houses the restaurant.

We had intended to go to a nearby French restaurant but our reservation was messed up so we retreated to reliable Leuca. I brought along this Pommard (thinking about the anticipated cuisine) and it was delicious. Bright cherries underpinned by an earthiness and a lavender lift. It has considerable depth and at eight years old is drinking beautifully right now.

Beautiful spice, red fruit, lively acidity. Everything great about Pommard. This could age for another decade easily.

9.0 doesn't give this wine enough credit. 9.5 is an honest rating. More of a modern Pommard, more fruit forward but a beautiful earthy and elegant finish. One of the more exciting new Burgundy wineries.

Raw wood aroma, chainsaw massacre, angular, whole cluster, cherry, orange blossom, crisp

Classic old world Burgundy- opened beautifully. Young yet, will be curious to taste it again a few years out and again further still. Lovely all the same.

Textbook balance and Pinot Noir typicity! Lovely red fruit notes and finish. A bit on the lighter side, body and color wise.

Ahhhh pommard .. Spicy and dried herbs to start, firm tanins that brings you depth !! Very délicate
