When you’re staying out of town in a hotel you drink what you can get. This merlot is actually pretty decent. It’s been a long day on the road with a delicious dinner. Back on the road homeward bound in the morning.

Deep ruby color, flat aroma, dry, sour, not much tannin, not much in the way of fruit, concentrated body but flavorless, slightly earthy or graphite aftertaste. Disappointing. $7.50

For the price, it's an exceptional value. Well rounded, plum on the nose, ripe cherry but not too sweet. Nice oaky finish.
