Dense crimson in colour. Unmistakably Cabernet on the nose of Medium minus intensity. Leafy notes with a touch of tobacco. On the palate medium bodied - solid without a lot of nuance. A continental Cabernet, where I think, maritime conditions suit Cabernet the best with the odd exception.

Mint and Bay leaf but not strongly so. Soft resolved sandy tannins - certainly reached its maturity. Lacks the intensity for a silver medal. Good value for under $30. Drink the last bottle in the next few months.

Some black currant but you can see the plummy influence of the Merlot (45%) taking over the leafy Cabernet Sauvignon (25%). The other 30% being Cabernet Franc, so this is more a Right Bank Blend. Great balance wth soft tannins and a little too much bitterness to finish off. Just not enough power in this cool climate Red for long term cellaring. To be honest expected a little better from this 5 ⭐️ Producer. Tomorrow night will open their Flagship Shiraz/Viognier Blend from the same year.

Dark crimson in colour. Notes of cedar, cigar box, mulberry and blackberry but not too much of the latter. Tannins resolved. The wine is in a good place at 13 years and my last bottle. Great value at around $30. A good example of continental Cabernet from the Canberra district. Pretty much equal parts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Clonakilla better known these days for its stellar Shiraz Viognier.

From a warmer year. Would not pick this as coming from the ACT. Very good colour of mid to dark crimson. Black currant and cedar. Medium to full bodied. Satisfying.

Clonakilla- better known for its excellent Shiraz Viognier but originally planted to Cabernet by Tim Kirks Dad before they realised the best bet was Shiraz with a splash of Viognier. Aromas of Plum Berry Mint and Violets. This is a very good Continental Cabernet blend made up of 35% Cab Sauvignon 35% Cabernet Franc and 30% Merlot. Their 30th Cab blend.

Our group thought that this bottle was affected by TCA. Shame. The cork was in excellent condition.
