Selected small clusters of the smallest berries from the oldest vines & it is tasting beautifully 😋 loving the eucalyptus/mint nose with lots of tobacco & fine grained tannins on the back end

9/2021. Just a very nice wine. Bold, big flavor and a great finish. Got to have another bottle.

Explosive eucalyptus aroma, softer black fruit several layers below that, some violets, earthy fruit palate, dark coffee bitterness, solid foundation of acidity, tongue-hugging bold tannins and a finish that’s miles long. Bought this #mourvedre onsite at the vineyard around Thanksgiving 2019. It’s a boutique production from a vineyard site where the grape vines are growing near a large stand of ubiquitous Blue Gum Eucalyptus trees. This might be love it or hate it but it’s damn interesting. It was my wife’s birthday and we’d be waiting for the occasion to open it as we both loved it. I imagine a great pairing might be clove-studded lamb to pick up the menthol notes but we had it with pizza and it still held up well to the bold flavors of our various toppings. Fantastic.
