Second bottle out of 3 of this fascinating, delicious #mourvedre from a deep-rooted, renowned family producer in #sonomacounty. This wine is interesting when it opens up, big eucalyptus, menthol up nose, layered black/purple fruit, dark coffee, nice acidity and some fine grippy tannins. Somewhat interesting single #evangelhovineyard #carignan from Bedrock. This medium plus bodied red opens up pretty slow. After a couple of days in wine chiller, dusty black fruit, bruised plum, faint sweet tobacco notes. Initial push of savory character on palate, chocolate, blackberry, lots of acidity. However, there’s a flatness mid palate - there are much stronger values from this producer in their blends with wider distribution. #contracostacounty — 2 years ago
