Second of the four reds for the blind tasting of Non-American Shiraz/Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting.

Deep mix of garnet and ruby red. Biggest nose of the lot with layers of gunpowder, bramble berries, black berries, a touch jammy, baking spices and maybe a little mint. Some aged characteristics of tomato too. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus to full bodied. Rich palate with some aged cherries, black fruits, vanilla, cinnamon, and solid dark gravel. Almost volcanic rocks. Excellent structure and long, lingering finish. Drink till 2024.

Haven't seen this one in a while. On the nose black olive, leather, spice. Body still has some fruit, but mostly developed characters.

Love this! Complex & fun. Old woody attic, dried floral, still good fruit, plum, blueberry, raspberry. Finish builds slowly to leave you satisfied, but wanting more.

BBQ Ribs night in Mendocino. Haven't had one of these in years. It treated us well.

Rich heady smell, floods the mouth smooth velvety almost syrupy. Sweet, full bodied, very mild acidity- just enough to titillate the mouth. Pretty clean finish, with slight tannins. Ate with short rib ragu with gremolata (makes the garlic burn a bit more in the mouth) and uni. Charles: tannins actually pretty strong, just balanced by sweetness. By dark fruit.mysterious.
