Light ruby color with a dark core. Aromas of black fruit, barrel smoke and fresh herbs. Flavors of black cherry and black plum fruit with additional notes of black pepper and dark chocolate. Very funky medium finish. Medium-minus bodied and mild tannins. Reminds me more of a cool climate Syrah than a Merlot. Reasonable.
