Bravo to this big North Carolina Malbec. Who would have thought 👌🏼 — 5 months ago
This is a small town beauty pageant winner - rural North Carolina channeling the Right Bank... gorgeous brooding ripe almost stewed plum, blackberry & boysenberry mingled with dusty edges, spices, savory and a wild savage forestry-herbaceousness. Medium bodied w/firm tannins backbone - an absolute pleasure that absolutely over-delivers @ $17. .1 bump for locale & price point — a year ago
For under $20, never had a better CF: just gorgeous, elegant feminine expression starting w/brilliant dark ruby color - verge of opaque, generous red berried fruit w/smoky vanilla accent. Smooth luxurious on mid-palate, finely grained tannins, yet sturdy w/balance integrated acidity & tons of flavor. Modest length on finish only telltale sign of cost. Always pleased w/this NC winery. — a month ago
Nice earthy red, medium tannins and good red. Fruit. This is one of the best wineries in N C — 3 months ago
A bit of rollercoaster ride…the aromatics throw you what looks like a fastball, however it’s a 2-seam splitter ;) still evaluating…. — a year ago

Decent wine, bity at first then gets better. Paid $36.65 at nou vines in North carolina. 4/12/2022 — 3 months ago
In our binary world- this is a feminine format. Pinot weight and body with East Coast fruit expression. Nice aromatics couple with punchy acidic flow. The type of plummy acid that make the mouthfeel “float” with a grace more impactful than the actual fruit. Compelling, especially with the right cuisine ;) 1 bottle remains - target 2026? 91 pt because it’s NC and relatively weighted — a year ago
Delightfully crisp, watermelon notes — 3 years ago

Surprisingly good AFTER a lot of aeration. After 30 months in barrel and years on my rack I thought this would be in a good drinkable place from the cork, which was not unpleasant by the way. The predominant notes of Merlot and PV shown through in all stages, but the big take away was the breath and complexity increased with a couple days of air. (Vac’d plug of course) juicy, harvest fresh berries combined with just enough structure and herbal intrigue to make this delightful with artisan sausage pizza and our house smoky bacon bean soup. I had a chance to get a second bottle but it will be fun for someone else to taste a touch of North Carolina’s better half. — 24 days ago
