Opened sometime prior to service. The 2011 “Héloïse” pours a deep garnet purple with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with ripe and dessicated brambles, purple flowers, olive brine, leather, umami flavors of beef broth, black pepper and dry organic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and sanguine. A big wine that’s really well made. Drink now through 2031+.

Totally unlike the last time I tried it, two years ago. time has done this good- and perhaps some bottle variation is at play here too.
This is sappy and delicious. Herbal character, very pure. Some bo funk. Pinot noir elegance with persistent tannins.

WNH event number two. Rhône varietal wines with TX BBQ...a match made in Heaven!
Not familiar with this producer but this showed really well. Syrah, Grenache, Viognier Blend. If tasting blind, I would have guessed this was a Bordeaux...I got more saddle leather than spice here. There was a dustiness to the fruit (I got red, black and even a touch of blue fruit here). Finish had an herbal and clay note. Really enjoyed this and hope to seek some of this out. Thanks @Joe Lucca .

Unique winery with a progressive wine making style for the Rhone Valley. Bold wine with massive structure. Held at the winery for several years and bottle aged till they feel it is ready for the public.
