Third and last tasting of 2015 vintage. Pale white, very good clarity. Nose is floral and funky; one hour later, a spice note emerges. Melon and stone fruit flavors are fading since previous tasting one year ago. Litchi flavor is now core (label says quince, which emerges after 60 minutes, displacing litchi), while orange-citrus finish is relatively strong, with a lactic, mineral and creamy leesy character. Dryish, good acidity. Moderate skin astringency, with a white pepper tactility but not flavor. I’ve never tried an aged Gruner before, but this wine is making me think about aging one, this being a possible candidate. A nice product overall.

Slightly more residual sugar for my palate but otherwise fine execution

Picked up on my last trip to the Willamette Valley, this was a favorite white wine from my tasting at the winery. Tasting well. Zippy, fresh, multi-dimensional mouthfeel and perfect with steamed shrimp & citrus herb salad I threw it against.

Golden yellow in color. Floral note in nose. Lychee and lemon notes in mouth, dry, plenty of acidity, minor astringency, lees creaminess, apple and lime flavor on finish. Excellent varietal character.

Clear medium yellow. Interesting nose with mandarin oranges, spices, provenance herbs and a touch creamy. Moderate acidity (5.5/10) and medium bodied. Smoother on day two and not as sweet. Layers of flowers, citrus, baked apple, a touch of pepper and a little rich. Medium length finish. Quite enjoyable. Drink till 2022.

A very crisp, fruit forward Alsacian-style wine with no discoverable oak.
