Drinking this watching the World Series. This wine is a beast and also has amazing complexity. Definitely needs air but once it gets it look out!

When the server is fun everything tastes better. Checkerboard always has a chocolate, mocha and blue fruit thing going on that I like. It has the 3 P's: People pleasing pure fruit. An exceptional stand alone wine.

Decanted for about 2 1/2 hours. Really opened up. Lots of blue mountain fruit in this wine. Lovely.

Jul 24th, 2016I had this wine a few weeks ago at a wine dinner. Tonight I was able to focus on this wine. Blueberries, graphite, spice and lilac. Wonderful fruit and tannin. This is a wonderful wine that will age effortlessly for 20 years.
