Lush and vibrant, the latest red blend from Checkerboard’s Aurora Vineyard has the vanilla and clove of new oak but these are balanced by ripe, mellow fruit- black cherry, blackberry, cassis, grilled meat, plum and blueberry. Great tension and balance with ripe tannins and excellent acidity. Very fine

Martha McClellan, winemaker. Decanted for an hour. Inky dark fruits(plum, blackberries) Combines power & elegance. It’s tannins are silky & round. 45/60 second finish. Edit- Magical on hour 2.

Drinking this watching the World Series. This wine is a beast and also has amazing complexity. Definitely needs air but once it gets it look out!

When the server is fun everything tastes better. Checkerboard always has a chocolate, mocha and blue fruit thing going on that I like. It has the 3 P's: People pleasing pure fruit. An exceptional stand alone wine.
