This 2012 was still delicious but the back end seemed to be fading a bit.

Drinking this watching the World Series. This wine is a beast and also has amazing complexity. Definitely needs air but once it gets it look out!

When the server is fun everything tastes better. Checkerboard always has a chocolate, mocha and blue fruit thing going on that I like. It has the 3 P's: People pleasing pure fruit. An exceptional stand alone wine.

Beautiful fruit, elegant nose and a perfect finish - An hour of decant and its showing unbelievably well. A true masterpiece of winemaking.

Decanted for a couple of hours and really delicious

Blue mountain fruit followed by graphite and cassis. This wine continues to develop and get better. Very enjoyable tonight.

Decanted for about 2 1/2 hours. Really opened up. Lots of blue mountain fruit in this wine. Lovely.
