Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend

2016 vintage. Good classic Pomerol, but not cheap at 100 euro.

Somewhat muted nose of red fruit, earth, and mushroom. Rich flavors of ripe cherries, vanilla, and gravel. Structured and grippy

Think the bottle was showing it’s best- menthol, strawberry leaf, spiced plums, ripe mulberry, quandonngs, cocao. Plenty of acid and tannin here too. All felt disjointed

Big wine. Suitable for a 20th anniversary dinner in Paris. Tastes great, smells even better, like somebody filled my humidor with baked plums. My wife's cousin said he could still smell it an hour later. I'm not sure what he's talking about, but it was sure good.

👄 Silky smooth balanced slightly tart plummy fruits coated in dirty cocoa

🎯 Long oaky plum & mineral filled with slight green & cocoa end

Great now but brilliant in a few more years 👍

Nothing like a killer value bdx

Definitely on the young side, but gave it a whirl after one hour in decanter. It was definitely open for business with plushness and more fruit forward characteristics of its youth. A really good Pomerol and one that I will continue to seek out.

Not usually an French wine lover but this one surprised me.

Not a huge old world fan but this one was a pleasant surprise.
