Excellent white Bordeaux. Honey and floral nose. Honeysuckle, lemon, lemon zest, dried green apple, almond and salt with austere minerality. Very complex and layered with amazing acidity. I’m still on the fence about Bordeaux as a region, but this is outstanding. With potatoes au gratin, romanesco, herbs and a side of balsamic greens. The dish didn’t turn out so well - too dry. But at least the wine was good!

Jan 25th, 202566/34 Semillion/Sauv Gris blend, fermented in new barrels.
Very Semillion nose - bees wax, a bit of honeysuckle, a touch of baked lemon, toasted almonds, a herby whiff adding complexity.
Rounded & creamy on the palate with toasted nuts, a bit of brioche and zingy lemony acidity balaincimg it out. Great depth here and an energetic tension. A complex, quite profound white, begging for some nice food. Wow - this is amazing!
