Bright, fresh, mineral-driven example of TSC. At this young stage, give it an hour of air before the licorice, plum, black cherry, dark cocoa and earthy nuances start to show. Not as powerful or concentrated as the 2016 or 2018, the two surrounding vintages, but it's going to drink well earlier and it sells for a song!

The 2015 Tour Saint Christophe was impressive from barrel and is equally impressive from bottle. Red cherry/raspberry jam, exotic spice and floral notes fill out in a sumptuous, racy Saint-Émilion loaded with personality. Even with all of its overtness, the 2015 retains a good bit of freshness as well. This is a fabulous showing from a property that continues to improve under the stewardship of owner Peter Kwok and consulting winemaker Michel Rolland. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2018)

Yessir Inky purple-hued beauty boasts stunning notes of blue fruits, crushed rocks, violets, and spring flowers. Medium to full-bodied, beautifully concentrated. Well done at $32.00

Time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Here's a French one.

Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.

Nice nose of black currants, plums, vegetables, wood, wet leaves, herbs, peppercorn, vinaigrette, earth and light leather.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with plums, cherries, strawberries, wood, vanilla, earth, spices, tobacco leaf, wet leaves, black tea, dark coffee, peppercorn, vegetables and green herbs.

Medium minus on the finish with firm tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a very young Merlot from Bordeaux. I opened it yesterday and it wasn't really there, so I decided to give it another day. Today it is better, but still unbalanced.

Needs 5 to 10 years to mature properly.

Better with food right now. A little unbalanced now, but worked for me with the Brie cheese.

A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

88 points.

$30.

Silly billy! The vinobles K wines are insane right now. Props to @jean chrisophe meyrou and the team. This is decadent and fresh. Modern and yet classic. hedonistic but elegant. It’s like the right bank met Calistoga. Awesome stuff

Clear medium garnet; medium intensity aromas of black currant, blackberry, black plum, black olive in brine, forest floor, wet leaves, cloves; developing; dry, medium plus acid, medium plus tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, medium intensity flavors of black currant, blackberry, black plum, black olive in brine, wet leaves and forest floor, cloves, medium finish; very good due to balance amongst acid, tannins and alcohol and integrated flavors, flavors a bit diluted, and finish doesn’t have much length

Can't remember having this before, but I'm super impressed. Some pine needles. A tad hot but young. I really need to study France and Bordeaux wines more. The country has always taken a back seat to Italy and Spain for me, so maybe starting today things change?

New world cult Cab lovers will find a lot to like with this one. Dense, fruit forward, and hedonistic. Not showing much now other than its showy oak character and massive fruit.

Cedar, underbrush nose, a touch of cedar, woodsiness on a medium bodies wine
