Nutty, round, and almost marzipan-like quality at 18. Way past its it’s prime, but fascinating

Light straw color. Aromas of pineapple and lemon. On the palate there’s pineapple, nectarine, white peach, lemon, and clean minerals. Finishes light and dry. Really delicious.

Amusing coconut note in the body. Particularly excellent with Indian cuisine.

Greenish yellow on the eye. Flowery on the nose. Nice dry start with evolving minerals followed by a balanced mid pallet with a vanishing hint of ripe white peach.

Buttery citrus nose. Soft, easy and smooth, not oaky.

Citrus, especially grapefruit; drier and not too sweet. Quite good!

The second wine of chateau carbonnieux. 70% Sauvignon, 30% semillon. They advise drinking very young and we had the 2012 in 2015. A dull straw colour and an almost unpleasant green apple bouquet. To taste it is quite dilute with those green apples appearing again. Overall somewhat disappointing, especially as comes from the waitrose fine wine selection.
