This estate owes its name to Connetable Talbot, the English general & governor of the province of Guyenne who was defeated at the famous Battle of Castillon in 1453. Aromas of sweet black fruits with flinty notes. On the palate blackberry & plum with cacao and tobacco tones, complex, adding cedar on a well balanced frame. The ‘09 with a bit of age has developed well, fine tannins, lingering ending with fruit and mineral character. Nice!

2009 France night part deux. Nice wine, one of the better Talbot's, hard to follow the d'Ampuis which was magnificent.

Half bottle. Slightly above average all around. More fruit forward than most ‘09 Bordeaux’s but still had nice earth and smoke. Medium finish. Better wines at this price point for this great vintage.
