Deep yellow gold. Abundant nose of dried quince and yellow flowers. Echoed on the medium light palate with white pepper and a light bit of balsa wood. Medium acidity and a long, palate-continuing finish. An unusual combination of lightness and oak driven weight that tastes heavier than it is making an excellent starter and meal wine. Drink now through 2027.

White Bordeaux seems to have gone under the radar for me. Much of it is very expensive (think Haut Brion Blanc) but I will be seeking out more affordable examples in the future. This was an excellent wine which literally disappeared at our table. Hints of pineapple. Tried to buy some but it had sold out. I hope subsequent vintages are as good.

A wine that has consistently shown some oxidization upon opening, with more structure and fruit showing with air. Actually, better day three.

2007 vintage - intentional oxidation consistent with bottle age. Terrific.

Gold yellow, definitely due to transparent bottle packaging accelerating aging by oxidation, much acacia and honey note, a touch of elegance and acidity but feeling on its peak! 😶

Nice, fresh, vibrant herby nose with fresh grass, nettle, a bit of fresh green guava. But also some yellow stone fruit in the background. Nice energy here.
A bit creamy on the palate, vibrant juicy acidity, with a nice green grapefruit / pomelo touch in the finish. nice balance & length.
A juicy one and quite lovely sipping while having lunch on the quay in Pauillac.

I found that bordeaux blanc is not for me.

A Talbot blanc with a bit of age on it. This is a tribute to Jean Pierre Marty, former wine director at Talbot and my father's best pal from the University who passed a bit over a year ago.
The color is a golden hue with almost a lemon peel nuance. The nose is marked by lemon and vanilla with some hay and flowery notes too. The palate shows a great acid drive, some nice lemony notes and a great width, some nice grip and a long finish with lemon, vanilla notes that last for a good minute... White Bordeaux for the win
