Had a little as an aperitif while waiting for the red to breathe. This wine is consistent every year, pears and petrol, sweet but not too sweet.

I found this wine at Walmart on sale, otherwise it would have been over my "let's give it a try" limit. It looked fancy in its tall skinny bottle and had a nice slider on the back showing it was on the up side of medium-sweet. Which I greatly approve of for us ignorant winos. That first glass however had me on the fence.
When you first drink it there is a nice fresh, sweet fruit flavor. I was liking it. Then you swallow and this odd aftertaste hits you. The more I drank, the more it hit me till I was grimacing at the end of the glass. I am told this is a thing with riesling.... Okay... Mark them off my list because this bottle is still in my fridge two bottles of wine later. Not my thing.

I use to like this wine more when I was a ‘newbie’ wine drinker. It’s sweet and light and would pair well with berries or fruit. Sometimes it’s almost too sweet for me but I still enjoy it overall.
