Preferred the 2000 Silverado Cabernet to this one. But, this is classic Bordeaux style to a degree. However I think it is a bit out of balance and starting to unravel at the edges. My first impression of this wine based on the nose was not very great. This one was pretty funky at cork pop. However, it settled down very fast. Smoked pipe tobacco, dates, plums was more of the character here. The finish was a little bit abrupt. Still has something left, but I would drink these up now.

Maybe only a little past peak with some good fruit, mellow ripe tannins, and adequate acid.
