2012 vintage. Pessac-Léognan arguably produced the best wines in this difficult Bordeaux vintage, and this is a great effort. Deeply coloured, dense, and concentrated, with a ripe tannic structure and very good length. Drinking well now, but will keep for many more years. Fine value, well worth seeking out. Abv. 13,5 %.

Dense and beefy, this drinks like a burly ca petite sirah. Good cocktail wine, highly extracted, somewhat boozy.

50 % merlot, 50 % cabernet sauvignon. This 2015 Pessac-Léognan might well be the finest value in the whole of Bordeaux. Fresh dark berries intertwined with the typical subtle Pessac-Léognan spiciness. Perfectly balanced, this wine seduces with its purity of fruit and fine-grained tannins. It is profound and very elegant, concentrated but not over-extracted, with perfectly integrated oak and a long deliciously spicy finish. At less than 25 euro this is a steal.

A organic Bordeaux from cotes de Bourge, produced in an estate that is dating back to 1778. However current owners, a big Bordeaux merchant family took over in 1976. A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% CS , lovely tempting nose, rich and intriguing, with red berries, black current, sweet spices, vanilla, cloves and licorice, full body rich, full of firm tannins and fine acidity. Give this baby some time to mature and you will be rewarded. My score 88, drink 2017-2027

August 2022. Front loaded with fruit, one dimensional. Won’t improve.

If you could let it breathe for a coue of hours, this wine would open up to a plethora of flavours and feelings.

Very different from the 2012 a few nights ago. Simple, more straight forward, more earthy.

Very lively, bitter dark chocolate and cherry, nice tannic grip. Velvety and dense. Good finish. A little later, with some bone marrow and fat on the tongue, this is super soft and smooth and packing a deep dense black cherry punch. Hint of black licorice also.
