Plan de Dieu Côtes du Rhône Villages Red Rhone Blend

A bright lively blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah.
Appropriate for a warm eve in So. Cal celebrating the first day of high school for my youngest. Pairing with leftover Asian slaw, multigrain rice and chicken.

A good text book Rhone

Good QPR. Dense and ripe but still retains an edge of freshness.

Caramel, dark cherry, leather, black pepper, black tea, and menthol. Medium plus alcohol, medium tannins, and high acid. A bit darker than I expected, but smooth and yummy, none-the-less, particularly at the price point.

Good CdP. More complex but not as delicious as some others I’ve had recently.

Good, solid floral Cotes du Rhone

Smooth, medium-bodied Cotes Du Rhône. Leather, currant and a hint of vanilla. Delicious!
