Chateau Reynella
Vintage Port Blend
Lunch at home with friends on Sunday and a great way to finish off the day with what I’ve always thought is Australia’s finest Vintage Port -Chateau Reynella. If you don’t have a VP with friends in the middle of winter then you shouldn’t buy VP. So great to be reminded of how good these wines can be. Probably middle aged at :23 years and the first of 4 from my cellar. As you can see from the label a multi awarded wine with Gold Medals and Trophies galore. Strong liquorice and savoury black currant notes. Really enjoyed this.

Probably WOTD at last Sunday’s Lunch. I would like to drink more Vintage Port but it’s best to have a group together when you pull the cork on one of these beauties. Much of the early rich Berry fruit from McLaren Vale has dried out to give these intense Liquorice and rancio flavours. A joy to sip.

May 7th, 2018Would almost be an injustice to rate and describe it. Still young and vibrant. Just astounding depth for a 52 year old vp. This is one of the best things I've ever tasted.

Jun 25th, 2016Attention Delectable.
This is the 1971 vintage of arguably Australia's best performed Vintage Port.
This was drunk yesterday with a group.
Stunning fortified. Sooty and tarry with lashings of liquorice on nose and palate.
Great fullness of fruit on palate even at this age.
Privileged to have a 43 year old wine at its peak. 19.
